Honors Student Rhea Cardwell earns national volleyball honors One day after earning first-team all-conference honors, senior Rhea Cardwell was named Tuesday as the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week for Nov. 10-16 on the strength of her strong performances in the Seawolves’ two season-ending road matches. Cardwell becomes the first Seawolf ever to win the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s weekly honor.

November 21 The Honors Student Advisory Board is sponsoring a Cranberry Sauce Drive. Please bring cans of Cranberry Sauce to the Honors Office (RH 119) by Friday, November 21. The cans will be given to the Alaska Food Bank who will be preparing Thanksgiving Dinner Boxes for families in need. The Alaska Food Bank does this every year and never gets enough Cranberry Sauce, so this is where we can help out. There will be a class competition between the Honors Classes. When you drop off your Cranberry Sauce, please let the Honors Office know what class you are currently taking. The class with the most cans on Friday at 5pm will win treats for your Honors Class (afternoon classes get pizza, morning classes get breakfast treats). If you are not in an Honors Class, you can pick your favorite Honors Class to donate to. The Sauce-Off is on!

Spend Spring Semester in Washington DC - Full Scholarships Available.
Through The Washington Center, UAA students can participate in semester-long academic internships in Washington, D.C. for credit. The fifteen-week program provides tailored internships that match the students’ academic, personal, and professional interests. The scholarship covers the program fee, housing, roundtrip air travel, and a living expense allowance. Three full scholarships are available for students from Alaska for Spring 2009.
